Warde Manuel Case Study

The University of Connecticut has decided to fire its head football coach today and Warde Manuel, the Athletic Director wants me to gather the media and hold a press conference to announce it. The first thing that I must do is to inform the esteemed members of the media through a press advisory. The press advisory will be sent out through email to all the members of the media that are associated with UConn athletics and that are of importance to attend the event. Members of local television will also be of importance to help with staging the press conference. The press advisory will be stated as follows:
Dear, Members of the media
At 9 o’clock this morning Warde Manuel informed myself that there is some breaking news in UConn athletics that he would like to share with the media today. Due to this circumstance, the University will be holding a press conference promptly at 12 o’clock this afternoon to officially announce the news. Warde Manuel will be fielding any questions that may be of importance for the media to have answered after the news is announced. The press conference will be held inside the Gampel Pavilion, on the basketball court.

The press kit will include a schedule of the events; first will be an introduction of Warde Manuel, followed by his breaking news statement and then any questions the media may have. The media will also be informed on movement protocol throughout the press conference. During the press conference there will be an opening statement by myself to welcome the media members to Gampel Pavilion and to introduce our Athletic Director, Warde Manuel. Following will be Warde giving his breaking news that the head football coach, Paul Pasqualoni has been fired. Then to conclude will be a chance for media to ask questions to
