Warburton makes various assumptions in this article. For example he states, “Individuals who choose to teach in dance, compared to non-teachers, do so with a strong belief in the value of critical-thinking in dance.”(Warburton 4).Even though this statement could be true there are other strong values teachers have the inspire them to teach. He also makes assumptions about what he feels is the best way to transfer knowledge. He believes that you need the skills and content information in order to think. Warburton explains the hierarchy commonly used in teachers does not promote transfer for students.
