The War of Independence also known as the Revolutionary War. It was a war on North America between thirteen British colonies and the kingdom of Great Britain. The war was the result of many events over a long time period of the political American Revolution ,where the British rule was overtaken by the colonist. An army was formed by revolutionaries that took control of the 2nd continental congress in 1775. The next year, they declared their independence as a brand new nation, the U.S From 1778 forward ,other Europeans would battle on the American side in the battle. meanwhile, Native Americans and African Americans served on both sides.
