The tale of the War of 1812 told by America focuses around America view, and often doesn’t mention other nations strifes and wars at the time, as well as skips mostly over the battles they lost. Sources written by Americans talk about how America had no choice but to go to war to protect their country and their freedom. Though American began as a part-time victim in story, they did not have to go to war. Stories told from Americans often do not go into detail about the Napoleonic Wars and how they greatly influenced Britain's and France's actions against the US. In the War of 1812, the United States took on the greatest naval power in the world, Great Britain, in a conflict that would have an immense impact on the young country’s future. One of the statements that might catch any suspicious eye, was in fact written by the Canadian Encyclopedia. The War of 1812 was a military conflict between the United States and Great Britain. As a colony of Great Britain, Canada was swept up in the War of 1812 and was invaded a number of times by the Americans. (par.1) Not only is this quotes claiming that Canada was innocent from the whole war, and that they only participated because they were a colony of Great Britain, but it also conveniently forgot to mention that number of time they also invaded America. Other mentions from this article claims that Canada “boldly” stood up to Americans, and that American soldiers could do nothing but
