The war of 1812 was a conflict between the United States and Britain. The declaration of both nations going to war was a result of 30 years of bad relationships between the two. The war was a result of numerous disputes between United States and Great Britain. One of the causes of the war, was the violation of American shipping rights. The British had been violating American shipping rights for a while. The British felt a threat to the growth that America had commercially. Restricting the American trade with France, the British will benefit their interests. Another maritime issue, was the British Impressment. The royal navy forced men into the naval service, not giving them much of a choice. It was a violation of their human rights.
