I stopped my reading for one day to relax my mind; I was unconsciously effected by the war Ishmael was in. I detested the rebel who killed his family, friends, and country. The war between the government and the rebels ruined the citizens peaceful lives. Families were separated, and children were brought to fright against their friend in different sides. Most children who became a soldier were either killed others or be killed by others, for most of them turned to be indifference, addicted with drugs, and killed more people for the joy of violence; Ishmael was one of them. He took drugs many times in day for energy, put himself to be busy avoiding to think about his family, and raided rebel’s camps for his family’s death. It was said by the corporal when they tried to convinced the citizens that they’re doing right and boosting the morale of soldiers. Said by the Lieutenant, “ We are more like the rebels, those riffraffs who killed people for no reasons. We killed them for the goodness and betterment of this country. So respect all these men for offering their services” It was ironic that they pushed all the fault to the rebels’ side, but was it only the rebels’ fault? I did not believed that It was completely the fault of rebels. It was difficult to find out right or wrong during the time of war. Everyone was sacrificing something they liked. Although it seemed like that the rebels were the crudest men in the world, Is it the truth? I understood that everyone looked at the war with their own perspective which contained biasses.
