Cyber bullying is an issue that effects one in five kids today. It's no wonder adults are attempting to find some way to solve it. However, banning portable electronics at Walter Murray is not the way to solve it. Cyber bullying can occur during school hours, but it usually occurs when kids are at home, says the National Association of School Psychologists. A child is in class and a teacher needs a dictionary definition for a word. Instead of searching for a dictionary or the teacher going over to their computer and interrupting their lesson they just pull out their phone and Google the definition. If there is a permanent ban on portable electronics, it takes away form a students ability to learn. Students can also use their portable devices to learn in an interactive way right in their classroom. There are websites that you can connect to with your phone and compete with other students through quiz taking. This allows kids to practise their quick thinking skills and strengthen their knowledge at the same time. We have technology and internet access for a reason, to better our society and allow future generations to learn more at a quicker and more efficient
