The beginning of the film, introduces the audience to an average man with a monotonous life establishing Walter’s identity as an ordinary, boring man. He wears formal business attire; a white shirt, grey tie, and matching coat and pants that are grey. This conveys how Walter has changed from being the risk-taking skateboarder with a mohawk to a young adult who had to assume the responsibility of his father after his death.
