Walter McAfee was born on September 2, 1914 in Ore City, Upshure County, Texas, USA. His parents are Luther F. McAfee and Suzie A. Johnson. He was the second of nine kids in his family. He and his brothers and sisters were homeschooled by their mother. She did a good job, because all nine of the children attended college. Which was extremely rare for african-american families at the time. As he got older, Walter began to take up temporary jobs. Never did he stick with same jobs. He grew up to be one of the smartest people ever, and is responsible for multiple calculations that would be needed today. He received multiple awards including: a Phd in physics, and a BS in mathematics. He attended multiple schools as well, such as: Cornell University,
