Walter Lee And The American Dream

The definition of the American Dream is unique to every individual. The American Dream can be classified as numerous things, lavish lifestyle, big houses and fancy cars. The American Dream also can be viewed as hard work and development. Money is an important part of the American Dream because it can help you gather things you need to create it ,but it can also not be necessary because many people have started their American Dream with little or no money. Money can help you create and build your dream. In the text “A Raisin in The Sun,” by Lorraine Hansberry say “He has his heart set on that store,”Walter Lee had a dream to open his own store. There are two things that interfered with his Dream. One of the things that interferes with Walter Lee’s American Dream was his mother, she thought that opening up a liquor store was a bad idea also money. Walter Lee need money to purchase the store. Most people who come to the United States aren't very wealthy. The American Dream can based on hard work and or labor. Money is rarely ever just handed to you, you have to work for it. A wise person said “Time is money,” -Benjamin Franklin. When you work hard and long you can earn money. Once you earn money you can build your American Dream and accomplish your goals. You work hard and put in time and you can earn money. In a recent article titles ”Challenging the American Dream,” “Eighty-four percent of American adults today have surpassed their parents. But that hasn't translated to greater wealth,” sixteen percent haven't succeeded in surpassing their parents.
