We just read realistic fiction story called “Big Joe's Funeral” from the book 145th Street by Walter Dean Myers. Big Joe one most generous guys on the block “If you were a little down on your luck, needed a meal, pair of shoes, or rent you should go to Big Joe”. He plans on making his own funeral so he can enjoy it while he’s still alive. But his daughter-to-be Peaches doesn’t like his plan. She hates it so much that she & her friends held up signs saying he’s not dead. Next, they blasted the song “ I’ll Be Glad When You’re Dead You Rascal You” at the park during the burial. Lastly, she called the cops and told them they had drugs in the coffin. One of Big Joe’s friend calls the cops telling them they had the wrong coffin. The story ends
