In A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, the two characters that influence the plot the most are Walter and Mama. They influence the plot because they are both trying to help the Younger family but in different ways. Walter is trying to make things better for the family but he is doing that in a selfish way. Mama is also trying to help the family but she is doing what is best for everyone. Walter’s character plays an important role in the story because his personality is very selfish and unpredictable.
