Robotics and computer based programs with any frame of intelligence has saturated our popular culture since the early twentieth century. Artificial Intelligence would either be our reckoning or create a convenient life in Utopia. Lost in Space, The Jetsons, and Star Trek all showcase life in the future, a future created around robotics and simulated computer programs. A prime example of this hopeful Utopian future was Walt Disney’s creation of Tomorrowland (PBS). It imbued the hopeful wish of a mechanized robotic lifestyle and nothing spoke more fervently of this than kitchens of the future. We see a reflection of this idealized vision in modern games like Fallout. Life after the cold war. Life beyond the nuclear fallout.
