We all know him as Walt Disney, the man that created Mickey Mouse, and the man behind all-things-Disney, like the theme parks and movies. Walt Disney was a man that had influenced just about everyone he came into contact with and his legacy still lives on. But how did Disney start from sketching a rabbit to running a multi-billion dollar empire?

Walt had three older brothers; Hebert, Raymond and Roy, two of which were never really a part of his life (Hebert and Raymond), and a younger sister named Ruth. After his birth, the Disney’s moved to Marceline, Missouri to a farm, where they spent most of Walt’s childhood. This is also where he developed an early love and talent for sketching and he often sold those sketches to neighbors. At age ten, Walt’s father moved the family again, but this time to Kansas City where he took up a newspaper route and required Roy and Walt to deliver the papers at three in the morning without any allowances. Although his father could be stern, his brother, Roy and his mother encouraged him to chase his dreams and continue his talent for drawing, even though the family was financially unstable at the
