The Pros And Cons Of Walt Disney

For decades now Walt Disney has been a household name from movies to television shows to the number one theme park in the world. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 and died on December 15, 1966. The start of this wealthy empire dates back to October 16, 1923, and since then has been growing tremendously. There has been an ongoing dispute about whether Disney’s lifework has help the country or not, and although there is no doubt that a multinational such as Disney has had its setbacks but it has come a very long way to help the public in a positive light. According to the 1941 strike it was said that he treated his workers badly but there is no proof that he did because there were barely any standards at that time about how workers were treated because it was only in 1938 that minimum wage became a law in the United States which was only 4 years when the strike happened. Also there was barely anyone to compare him to because Disney was one of only a few animation companies that even existed in the early 1900’s. On the contrary Walt Disney has been the for several ongoing years and the childhood memory of every adult in the 20th century due to the heart and soul that is put into the process. It can not be said that a person such as Disney is bad because as of today he is the epitome of happiness. In the article called “The cruel reality of Disney’s world” by Paul Harris it states, “By the time he died in 1966 more than 240 million people had seen a Disney film, 80 million had read a Disney book and 100 million had watched a Disney TV show (“The Cruel Reality”). Something as significant as the concept of Walt Disney can not be taken away and left with a positive outcome, it has given this world so much happiness. Walt Disney is a true Captain of Industry because he gave back to his nation by producing happiness with the animations and ideas he had, increased in productivity despite the odds of all his hardships which lead to more people having jobs and has made thousands of contributions into helping society by not only giving scholarships, books, and many charitable donations but also inspiring millions of people to believe in going after their dreams.
