As a kid almost every kids dream is to go to Disneyland or Disneyworld. For parents the go to movies for their children on any given day are Disney movies. Parents do not have to worry about a Disney movie being inappropriate. They can leave their children to watch a movie while they catch up any household things they may need to get done that may not be able to be done without the help of Disney
Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois. By the time Walt was 17 he dropped out of school to serve in World 1 as Ambulance driver when Disney returned to the United States he returned to Kansas City to become illustrator. Throughout Disney’s life, he was given awards and recognition for his contribution to the world of animation. Disney received an honorary Academy award in 1939. In 1954, Walt received four academy awards. In addition, Disney was also given the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1965 by President Lyndon B Johnson. By the time of Walt Disney’s death on December 15,1966 of Circulatory problems , Disney studios made 21 full length animated films, 493 short projects,47 live-action films, 7 true-Life Adventures, 330 hours of Mickey Mouse Club, 78 half hours of Zorro shows and 280 other TV …show more content…
On land that was the size of Manhattan Island in New York City. Over the years Disneyworld has expanded too many areas in the theme park. Since the park is geared towards children and Families, They added expanded the park for Teens, and Single people. With the opening of Pleasure Island in 1989, Pleasure Island is a 16 acre piece of land with nigh clubs and restaurants and a skating rink. In the 1990’s Disneyland expanded even more with the addition of Disney Boardwalk which was based on Atlantic City and Coney Island. By end of the 90’s Disney was a one-stop shop because they added a wedding chapel .in true Disney fashion it is truly magical featuring, a glass enclosed pavilion on its own island with a backdrop of Magic Kingdoms Castle. Today the Park sits on 27,258 acres. The Disney Company thought of different ways to expand in different areas of entertainment besides theme parks and movies. The Disney team came up with a Disney Cruise Line that included; a visit to the Deserted Island in 1998. The Cruise ship included the best of the best amenities: state of the art rooms, multiple shops and 5 star restaurants as well as night clubs for parents and teen.
