The classic movies people know were created by Disney and have been cemented into our minds. Employees at Walt Disney Animations have worked to evolve ideas from the mind of Walt Disney, to the thriving studios we know and love today. From the 1970’s to the 2000’s Disney, as a whole, has changed drastically. Disney then and now are different in ways such as animation, effect, and company size. Animation in Disney has changed a great deal since the mid 1900’s. Disney’s animation style portrays characters in such a friendly and likeable way that it is hard to dislike the movie or to not obtain a connection to the character. Bringing animals and objects to life and personifying them is what makes Disney so unique. Disney made its first movie called “Snow White” in 1938 and in 1950 the first non-animated movie came out called “Treasure Island.” This means for the first 12 years of movie making, all the movies made were animated. The animation process went from drawing the characters, to putting them on glass, to tracing them in ink, to painting them, to putting every single drawing together to create a scene. The Disney originals are the first movie made with that story, today lots of Disney movies are either remakes of the original movie, often in real life, or a new story nobody has heard of before. Although the new movies have better graphics, the classics will always have a special place in the history of Disney that the more recent movies won’t ever have. Like Walt Disney once said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Walt Disney believed in a hard working mentality.
