Unfortunately in his sixties his illnesses became worse, surprising him and others that this marvelous dreamer was not immortal. Even towards the end of his life, he stayed around his company and sustained his influence as a role model (Quinn, 2015). When most would throw in the towel, he maintained that well-known creativity and kept the drive alive with plans for Disney World and many more motion pictures. Shortly after the plans for Disney World took life he lost his own life to lung cancer. Before this he told his daughters, “When I’m dead, I don’t want a funeral. I want people to remember me alive”(Quinn, 2015, 1492), and that they do. Walt Disney was an effective leader in the eyes of many. Similar to what we learned in lecture he maintained positive relationships with many people (Lovaglia, 2016). Even when fame came around he stayed true to who he was and who is family and employees needed him to be. Quinn (2015) writes, “he was a dreamer, but, above all, an entrepreneur who didn’t measure success by fame. He saw money as a tool with which to develop new ideas and enterprises”(1511). This honorable behavior is still a driving force and influence for Disney as a company
