Walt Disney
“If you can dream it, you can do it. Remember that it all started with a man, and a mouse.” -Walt Disney. Walt Disney is very important in today’s society. He was inspired from drawing as a kid, he made Mickey Mouse, and he made his own theme park. He did things most people couldn’t. That is what makes him so special.
When Walt Disney was in school, his favorite subject was art class. He drew very realistic pictures. His art teacher was very impressed with what Walt could do. Disney stepped on a nail when he was a kid, which made him have to stay in bed all day. According to www.thoughtco.com, he spent that time drawing, reading, and drawing newspaper-type cartoons. He owned his own studio called, “Walt Disney Studio.” There was another animation studio owned by Charles Mintz. He wanted Disney to make a cartoon called, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Mintz wanted a cartoon that would be a rival to his cartoon, Felix the Cat. Later, Mintz’s studio became broke. He wanted to make money so he copyrighted Oswald. This made Disney depressed because he had no idea what to do and he didn’t have any money. One day he sketched a mouse and called it, Mortimer. His wife said to call it Mickey because it sound livelier. Disney then copyrighted the name, Mickey
