But, when he was in an amusement park in the early twentieth century, he noticed that there were only random assortments of roller coasters, and how sanitation wasn't the greatest importance. Walt wanted a place where children and families could have fun together in a clean, orderly and fun way, and at an affordable price. He knew exactly what he wanted, and it would be called Disneyland.…

“The wisdom of admitting your weakness and correcting them through continuous learning means leadership.” – A. James. When I read this aphorism it immediately clicked with me because this is something I had to learn to do to become a good leader. A leader isn’t someone who bosses people around to do things that will just benefit them.. A leader is someone who learns from their weaknesses and inspires others to better themselves.…

Among those who joined the Guild was one of Walt's highest-ranking animators, Art Babbitt. Babbitt, who was known for developing the infamous character Goofy, had a very strong sense of justice. Despite being higher on the totem pole than others, he felt that the pay structure was unfair and very disorganized. Art was a generous man; so gregarious that he would often pay his assistant out of his own pockets when Walt would refuse to give him a raise.5 He had always sympathized with the omegas of the wolf pack that was the Disney studio, but what really convinced Art to join the SCG was a day he witnessed a female cel painter faint of malnutrition, because she was saving her lunch money to feed her family and not herself. This didn’t mean Art…

Walt Disney was a wonderful man, a hero even. But some questioned that fact. Although Disney’s obsession was peculiar, he should still be viewed as a hero to the world today.…
