The planning process starts with a mission that defines as the basic purpose of the organization which is the basis for the strategic level of goals and plans, followed by tactical level of goals and plans and the operational level of goals and plans. Strategic goals and plans reflect to the organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The path to perfect logistics requires more than teams of savvy efficiency experts, however it requires automation. Paper-based purchase orders and invoice were soon replaced by electronic data interchange (EDI) and radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags began tracking inventory shipments from manufacturer s’ shelves at the right time, and in quantities suited to customer demand.
