I am sincerely honored to have been the recipient of the Michele D. Phenix RN ’95 Memorial Scholarship. I am writing to thank you for your generous, financial support towards my higher education. Let me tell you about myself, I am currently majoring in Nursing with the emphasis in obstetrics and emergency care. Although, the nursing program is extensive and challenging I will be completing the program in May 2019. I then plan to transfer to UMASS Dartmouth to complete my BSN.…

Drew LaBlanc Northland Alumni scholarship The passions I will bring to the Northland College community are my passions to succeed and try my absolute hardest at every challenge that is handed to me. I am also very passionate about the arts, since I am going for an art major. I enjoy learning about and creating art. I’ve taken an art class each year I’ve been in high school and I love to answer people’s questions about art.…
I am greatly honored to be a recipient of the 2016, 2017 Witham Trustee Scholarship. Thank you very much for the kind generosity of this gift. Your support will greatly help my family through the struggle of paying for college. Just earlier this year, a brother of mine has graduated from this University and wishes to move on to medical school, which leaves quite the financial burden on them. The scholarship you have given me helps offset that burden just that little bit that greatly helps my family.…
When I was younger and as I gradually grown up I had no recollection of a historically black college and university, partially due to that fact that college was not a big topic in my family. Once I entered into a high school, I became more familiar with HBCU, one in particularly Howard University. Howard University has always been my top school since I attended the college fair at my high school. From the moment I was presented with the opportunity to speak to one of the represents, where I just fall in love immediately. What really caught my attention was that business school at Howard University it is notorious for producing and modeling the best of the best.…
As children, our parents shape our ideas and opinions. When I was a child I thought Texas A&M was the only university my parents would let me attend based on the way they talked about it. I thought that they would not help pay for my college if I went anywhere else. It was not until I was in high school that I realized that Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend. I would like to study at Texas A&M to continue my family tradition, for the opportunities it offers after graduation and to be admitted to the dental school with a great education behind me.…
1st Draft Scholarship Essay I’m a farm boy stuck in the city, Kansas City, Kansas to be more specific. I was born here, but I was raised on my father’s ranch in Tuxcueca, Jalisco, Mexico. I always wondered why I felt out of place here in the United States, it’s a big change from the smell of green fields to exhaust fumes. I’m used to delivering calves and planting corn, riding a horse through the fields, rather than being struck in traffic on my phone.…
They call them “Tap-taps,” the brightly painted open back trucks that transport passengers through the dusty streets of Haiti. A traveler taps the side of the vehicle to board, pays, rides and then taps to jump off at a desired destination. For one particular man who sat with his face covered by a towel, that destination was the Diegue clinic in Port-au-Prince. All I knew from intake was that this patient was here for a foot issue. I noticed the adult sitting uncomfortably, a towel wrapping his foot, as his eyes scanned around the room.…
Taking into account Creighton University’s dedication to a diverse educational community, I consider myself a student with varying talents, abilities, experiences, opinions, and backgrounds. One aspect of my life that separates me from others is my involvement in collegiate athletics. I competed in wrestling at both the Division I and Division III levels. Through wrestling, I have obtained a large amount of experience that will help me in physical therapy school. One of the greatest American wrestlers and coaches of all time, Dan Gable, once said, “Once you have wrestled, everything else in life is easy.”…
Your life will change when you deploy to a third world country to support and defend the United States of America. Each Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Marine and their families will experience this change in their own way. For many service members, it will give them some insight as to how other people in that country live their daily lives; they may become more humble and appreciate what they have a lot more. They will value the time that they have with their families after being gone for so long. However, for a cocky, arrogant young man I found a new respect for life and a greater understanding as to why you should live it each day to the fullest.…
I joined my first choir in seventh grade. It was the school’s seventh grade choir and it had about a hundred kids in it. I enjoyed being there so much that the thought of the arts just stuck. Since then I have been in four choirs (all school funded) and two musicals. Though I know I do not have the most experience and my abilities are still shaky, music continues to be a big part of my life.…
I am applying to Underwood International College because my research indicates that your Culture and Design Management (CDM) program is outstanding and will provide me with the best possible preparation to enter this field. One of the reasons that attracts me the most to this college is the diversity. I have always wished to attend an international college and from a young age have wanted to pursue a career in the Design field. I am also interested in technology and culture and your program fits the bill perfectly for me.…
LONE EAGLE The rank of Lone Eagle is similar to the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout, but with a specific focus on character and leadership. I was considered for the award after completing the qualifications for mastery of Survival, Archery, Swimming, Tripping (Orienteering), Canoeing, and Campcraft. After extensive interviews regarding my leadership at camp and the way I served my campers and fellow staff, I was inducted into the Lone Eagle Fellowship, which is committed to praying for and serving the mission of Deerfoot to build Godly young men in a wilderness setting. I am one of the 115 Lone Eagles recognized in the camp’s 85 year history.…

Walla Walla University is centralized around its Christian beliefs, striving to bring out the talent that God has given to every student. As far as colleges go, I hold Walla Walla University in the highest regard. Being a Christian myself, I have come to cherish this Christian atmosphere and thirst for knowledge at Walla Walla. It is in this respect that I have for the University that I write this candid letter. I write this letter as an appeal for my readmission decision of the Spring of 2016, but even more so, to give my dream school another chance.…
