Dear Members of the Academic Standards Committee; I am writing to appeal my academic dismissal from Walla Walla University. Receiving this letter was very troubling to me, although I understand because my past two quarters have not been the best. Nevertheless, I am writing with the hope that you will give me another chance and reinstate me for the Spring 2018 semester. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to explain my circumstances. Throughout my first quarter, I admit that I was having difficulty adjusting to the new life that I had at college. I decided to move out of state because, throughout my last two years of high school I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety induced panic attacks caused by problems I was having with my friends and at home. When I was accepted to Walla Walla University it was going to be the new beginning for me. But starting from new was harder than I expected it to be, it was a very big adjustment being surrounded by all new people and getting used to the new classes. I had to find new ways to plan my schedules and study my courses. I was doing average in most of my classes but with all the homework I had it was hard for me to get to sleep on time which led to me having trouble with making it to my 8 am class. After my first quarter I decided it would be best to not take early morning classes. I got mainly C’s in my classes which would’ve left me with a GPA above 2.0, but because of the D I got in one of my classes, my GPA was dropped to 1.9. If I had talked to more people, other

Drake Faculty and Staff, I humbly request to repeat the spring semester at Drake Law School. During the fall semester of my first year of law school, I had the grave misfortune of befriending an individual that attacked me after a social gathering of fellow law students. Due to this incident, I was unable to perform at my best and it reflected in my grades. The following semester, I came forward and requested assistance from the faculty and staff in an effort to improve the spring semester. Unfortunately, with the hearing being set during finals, I requested to have them postponed.…

I write this letter of appeal to you, the Academic Regulations Committee, a more mature individual with a greater sense of purpose. First of all, I would like to thank everyone from admissions for the incredible opportunity that was granted to me when I was transferred at Baruch College. One of my proudest moments was when I had gotten accepted into Baruch College and I am a better citizen because of Baruch College no matter what decision the A.R.C. makes. When I received my letter of dismissal in August of 2015 it was not unaccepted, but nonetheless I was shattered. By writing this letter I want to make it clear that I am not making up a story up or an excuse but in fact, I take full responsibility for everything that was and was not in my control.…

In this letter, I would like to take time to explain to the Admission’s Committee why my GPA is not what should be expected of me. The other reason would be that I lost a very good friend to suicide.…

Before this email was sent to me I had made myself already aware of the fact that I have not been performing anywhere near my academic capabilities, and i began to plan for next semester in order for this not to happen again. My GPA right now is a terrible example of me and not only does it look bad on me it looks bad on the people that have brought me here, to where I am today. I know that I am able to perform far better than this and maintain a GPA that reflects the schools teaching skills better and reflects how good of a student I can be. Before the dismissal letter was sent I was formulating my schedule and creating ways that I was going to come out with at least a 3.2 GPA and higher next semester. I would love to be allowed to come back to the campus next semester and prove to the school that I am a good student and that I can perform well.…
