When WALL-E first came out everyone was expecting the same thing Disney always produced. A cute modernized movie about a robot, Only to discover it was nothing of that sort the quote from the movie . “I don’t want to survive I want to live”( Stanton, Andrew dir WALL-E) demonstrates the horror the characters feel living in such a miserable environment. For the people who have read 1984, it is easy to see the plot line is almost identical. 1984 by George Orwell demonstrates the dark side of the government, where love cannot exist and loyalty is unreal. While in WALL-E, two robots fall in love with each other, they are two that should not be together, WALL-E and EVE’s relationship is very similar to Winston and Julia’s in 1984. WALL-E is a trash robot and EVE a very driven robot on a scanning mission, both meet and join in on an adventure together to bring all the robots together and fight against the others who believe restoring earth will only make things worse. Where Winston an older man and Julia a girl part of the Junior Anti Sex League both decide they need to escape the current horror and both join the brotherhood to fight Big Brother. In this short story they have reached the point where they no longer need people to patrol the streets and keep them safe. It is all run by computers, even the cars. The Pedestrian is considered to be taking a look into the future, When the man by the name Leonard Mead, takes his daily walk in the year 2053. It is unusual to see any one walking around in this town, considering they all have a couch and a tv on the inside of their homes. On this night in particular, Mr.Mead is signaled to stop by a police officer who begins to ask him a series of questions about his life. He asked him what he does for a living and Mr.Mead told him he was a Writer. In that day and time, Writing was not considered a true career, so the police officer understood it as “unemployed” and asked him to get in the car in which he proceeded to do.
