Alvin: A Young Man Who Loved Face To Face Communication

Alvin was a very thoughtful young man who loved face to face communication. He would always say “Hello” to everyone that he sees. One day, mowing his lawn, he had saw his friend, Lucy, and she had a very shiny gadget. Alvin walked up to her and said, “Hey Lucy, what you got there?” She said, “Oh, Alvin, this is a cell phone, a greatest innovation that America has created. On this device, people can talk, text, email, and browse, etc. This little thing will change the face of communication.” After Lucy’s words, Alvin thought to himself that this device wouldn’t be too much of a bad thing to communication, so he hurriedly went to the store to buy one. A couple of hours later, the whole community came to the store and brought cell phones, also. After a few weeks have passed, Alvin really did not like the cell phone craze and believed that the cell phones was changing people socially. When he started back on his walks, whenever he said “hello” to people, they will either ignore him or they are too busy talking on the cell phone. Another instance …show more content…
Many people can vouch that cell phones can connect with co-workers, family members, and friends more easily, can be a great use in emergencies, is a wonderful tracking device, and is very effective in the workplace and for studies. It is also a great tool for entertainment and forming new ways of communicating. Many people cannot stop from giving the cell phone praise. According to the Pew Research Center, there are numerous statistics of how much Americans love the mobile device. Some statistics are “forty-four percent of cell phone users sleep with their mobile devices beside them, sixty-four percent of cell phone users check their cell phone constantly, and twenty-nine percent of users cannot live without their cell phones.” (Pew Research Center Mobile Fact Sheet).
