George Herbert Walker Bush, who was born in Milton, Massachusetts, to Prescott Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush, is a member of the Republican party. Bush is an American politician who served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. He was also a two-term U.S. vice president under Ronald Reagan, from 1981 to 1989. His career was viewed successful in foreign affairs but a disappointment in domestic affairs. Bush was unsuccessful because he failed to persuade the Americans to give him another four years in office. He is also the last living former President who is a veteran of World War II. He served until the end of the war, then attended Yale University. Graduating in 1948, he moved to Texas with his family and entered the oil business, becoming a millionaire at the age of 40. Bush then becomes president and makes decision according to his mindset. Some of his decisions are, sending American troops to Panama, signing the second Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty with Russia and Pardons six government officials who had been implicated in the Iran-Contra affair. …show more content…
An example was when he met with the Prime minister of Kuwait to address Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in August 8, 1990. This situation ties with the presidential role of Chief diplomat. Bush had a strong opinion on the situation of Iran invading Kuwait with its troops. Iraq was already a rich and powerful country that possesses the world's second largest reserves of oil and over a million men under arms. It was the fourth largest military in the world. Making compromises and deals with that country wasn’t in our favor. This is when Bush met with the Prime minister of Kuwait to address Iraq's invasion of Kuwait to make deals and
