Walk Two Moons Get The Newberry Award

Decent Essays
One of my reasons why I think Walk Two Moons got the Newberry Award was because how it talked about the concept because it would go to Phoebe's life and then back to the road trip to go find Sal's mom. I also think it got the Newberry Award was because it was organized, it would talk about Phoebe and then the Grandma would ask about what happened to Phoebe and I think that's why it also got the Newberry Award. This why I think it officially got the Newberry Award was because of the characters how they explained the characters it was my absolute favorite part and I think that it would be age appropriate for many people. The plot was good especially with Ben and Sal it was my favorite part, the other part I liked was when.I absolutely loved

Peter and the Starcatcher is an exhilarating and adventurous story that tells the tale of the well known free-spirited boy, Peter Pan’s backstory. Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the 2004 novel written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, which was fashioned into a play by Rick Elice. I had an exceptional experience of seeing the play on March 29, at 9:30, adapted by director, Kerry Bishop on the A.B Lucas Secondary School stage. This play certainly catches the whimsical and wonderful essence of the boy who never grew up and how he came to be. Starring Aidan Peters as Peter, Makayla Ashenden as Molly Astor, Michael Jenkinson as Black Stache and the entire A.B Lucas cast put together a humorous and heartwarming performance, leaving me on…

A Christmas Carol Analysis I have loved A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens since I was little so I was very excited to see how Michael Daehn brought this iconic story to life. In his version, I believe that Daehn wanted to convey the heart of this story. To share the message of hope and selflessness and redemption and perhaps to inspire and enlighten the audience. By choosing to use a version of this play that incorporates music he not only brought this story to life but brought the audience into the story.…

Kiss Me, Kate originally showed in 1948 in late December, at the New Century Theatre. The musical was written and produced with a similar scenario having happened to the playwright in his previous acting time, giving it a unique stage perspective as they began writing the acts. How this went about was Arnold Saint-Subber going to Samuel and Bella Spewack sometime in 1947 to have them begin writing it, they then went to Cole Porter who began to write the musical numbers. Then with choreography by Hanya Holm all the performers had to be strong triple threats to maintain character, vocals, and theatricals through the whole show. I was not able to tell what period this piece was set directly in given that it is in fact a play with in a play, however, I was guessing around the late 1950’s given the costuming when they were not in show, they did however did have a portion of swing during Too darn hot which would lead me to believe it took place earlier.…

The course HD 361- Social and Political Contexts of Human Development covered topics such as race/ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, class/wealth, ability, and social status oppression and power/privilege. I have a better concept of understanding the meaning of privilege and power in a society inequality. A systemic structure grants privileges to some people but not to everyone. Privilege is inherent in the structure of our society; the way society is organized and functions. Because our privilege is woven into our lives and circumstances, we most often take them for granted, and rarely stop to consider the benefits, unless they are taken away from us.…

To Walk Again in Manderley It was a wonderful day indeed when on May 13, 1907 British writer Daphne Du Maurier came into this world. How very different it would all have seemed if we hadn’t had the chance to read her fascinating and interesting novel “Rebecca” which she wrote in 1938. She was born in London, England and received her education in Paris, France. She was already born with creative genes I would say since her father was a well-known actor and theater manager.…
