Walk Two Moons Analysis

In the novel walk two moons by Sharon Creech dad faces internal and external changes when his wife leaves without her saying a word. First dad's wife leaves behind her family. Then whenever sal mentions phoebe's mom leaving and then coming back he starts to think about his wife and her leaving. Finally dad decided to move back to bybanks kentucky after he knew that his wife was not coming back.

Dads wife just leaves and he broke the wall to take his sadness or anger out so it didn't rub off on Sal. On pg3 it says” my father started chipping away at the wall in the living room house in bybanks. Shortly after my mother left us”. This quote shows that Sal's father only chipped at the wall when his wife left.

Also dad was dying to convince Sal that her mother left because she wanted to on pg94 Sal's dad says “Sal your mother went because she wanted to go. A person cannot foresee you never know”. This quote demaninstraights that even though his wife is gone he knows that you will never know when someone is coming back or if they come back. …show more content…
