Walden University has a competitive Doctoral education program. I was delighted when I received my acceptance letter. For the purpose of this assignment, I will describe my career path and specialization I plan to pursue. Next, I will explain two strategies I will use to build a network with colleagues and explain why these strategies would support a professional collaboration. Then explain how my degree path and specialization relates to my topic of interest. Finally, I will identify my personal and professional goal that will reinforce my degree track. I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Education with a Specialization in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. The Ph.D. is an important aspect of my professional and personal Goals. The need to develop knowledge in education in a nation that is consistently changing due.. To accomplish my professional and personal goal, I need a program that is accessible practical, an affordable and would prepare me to be a leader in education. I have been in the field for over fifteen years. The problem I see in special education is teacher lack of preparation and training. With a degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment, my ability to change this every growing issue .... the plan are to narrow down my research topic to an area of special education that needs further exploration. I will implement the change in the flawed system. The Ph.D. program will take about five years at the end of this five years I will be a qualified change agent. The education system is constantly changing; new standards are being developed. As state standards continue to change teachers need more professional development and training to meet the needs of the evolving educational
