Walden Experience

What I learned from this wonderful experience was not to take nature or anything in general for granted. Also, I did not write all of my thoughts down that I had because that would take up more than eight pages, but I really thought about social media because I was away from it. Social media was like my comfort and I cared about it so much. For example, I always wanted so many likes on my posts on Facebook and Instagram. During the Walden experience, it made me change my mind and it made me ask myself why? Why did I care so much about the likes instead of the actual picture or actual status? I was just getting too stressed out from school. I am actually happy about quitting my job, but too be honest that means I get the chance to spend more time with my family which I love. Thoreau mentions, “Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth” (Bedford 9). This quote relates to me because if I could add one more thing to that quote it would be social media. No one should be worried about money and fame. They should care about being happy and making memories with family and friends. Thoreau says, “Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth” (Bedford 9 ). In my journaling part of this essay, I really noticed how much I talked about summer and winter. The more I read this quote, it makes me appreciate the seasons so much. We only get four and they only come around once. A year goes by very quickly, even though sometimes it may not seem like it. That is why I am going to live each season as it passes. I want to make it a goal of mines to go outside during each season and just stay out for about an hour. I also want to take pictures and
