A common stereotype is that associates are punching bags, there for no other reason than to release your anger on. It’s a common thought that we are to put up with any type of situation pertaining to the customer such as do what they wish with little to no limitations, often taking their amassed anger and releasing it on the nearest associate they happen upon. We are also seen as having no motivation in life, hence working in retail as if it’s a position in life for the uneducated and lazy. In my six years of retail I have learned much, such as responsibility, socialization, and structure. For those who are good with the public and not faint of heart, I would recommend it as a learning experience because every day brings new goals and interactions I’ve been able to use my experience from Wal-Mart and apply it to everyday life, giving me a clearer understanding. AS we say at Wal-Mart if you don’t like it today, then stick around because it is constantly evolving into something new and will be completely different
