Every Eli Broad College of Business student, including myself, can relate to waking up in the morning and getting ready to head over to the Broad business college complex for classes, advising appointments, guest speakers, and various other events. It’s a unique process for every individual. Personally, I start off by waking up around ten in the morning by my alarm, which always wakes me up to my favorite song. After snoozing my alarm once or twice, I get up to wash my face and brush my teeth. I immediately make a cup of coffee so I have energy for the day. While drinking my coffee, I like to look over any homework, assignments, or tests that are coming up for the day or that week. I have a few options on how to commute to the business college …show more content…
That’s well over 100 times. On average, it takes me an hour to wake up and complete my process. I wake up early enough to give myself time to relax rather than rushing out the door. Since it is such a significant routine in my life, I am always trying to improve it. There are a few bottlenecks that I have to pay attention to in order to not be late to my classes. It takes me about eight minutes to get to the business college on my moped without any traffic. There are train tracks that I have to cross on my route. A problem can occur is if a train is crossing during my commute and I am stuck waiting anywhere from five to ten minutes until the train has crossed and I am clear to go. Also, any kind of traffic or unforeseen road closure due to an accident can cause a detour in my route to the business college. I will usually leave for class an extra five minutes early if I know traffic is going to be busy at that time of the day. Also, if it is snowing or too cold to take my moped and I have to drive, finding parking can be very frustrating and time consuming. I would also leave earlier than normal to complete my process on time. In order to improve my process further, I would have to research the most common times that trains cross the train tracks over by Akers Hall. By finding this out, I can take a detour and bypass the train tracks so that I am not stuck waiting. I can also think about living in a
