Not many institutions, however, can boast that its institution is shaping leaders inside and outside of the classroom. In my opinion, education is a tool one can use to change markets and societies, which is vital in order to eradicate global poverty. However, education is useless until one applies it to the real world. Throughout my life, I have sought opportunities to continually get better, be it physically, intellectually, or socially. At Wake Forest, I have received incredible instruction, but I have been discouraged to keep pushing through a couple classes, …show more content…

At Xavier University we believe in the “All for One and One for All” philosophy; showing that camaraderie and equality among all are still possible. One way Xavier lives up to its support for students is through the one-year long Smooth Transition mentoring program. I served as a smooth transition mentor to three incoming first-year students during the 2016-2017 academic year. In order to ensure that they have a successful first year at Xavier, I informed them about the resources Xavier University provides, including the writing center, mathematics lab, tutoring services, Ohio link, and much more. I also advised them to make good decisions and form relationships with people who would motivate them to succeed.…

During my employment at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston I was able to work with a graduate of MCPHS, Kaiming (Kyle) Chiang, MPAS, PA-C. His knowledge and comprehension of his role as well as his eagerness to always do more inspired me. Kyle’s professionalism and confidence led him to be a favorite among several patients; he was able to diagnose with confidence; and was able to communicate with the patients in a way that they would be able to understand. Kyle was always an advocate for MCPHS and as I continued to work with him I was able to see, not only his passion, but the knowledge he gleaned from his time at MCPHS. I knew that MCPHS was not only a school that prepared their students well for the workplace, but also teaches them in a manner where patient education and…

Last summer, I was an undergraduate researcher at UNT’s CASCaM. There, I delved into the mind-boggling world of quantum modeling, molding chemical structures like a child would Play-Doh. But I was far beyond the comfort of the classroom – I was in a completely unfamiliar environment, faced with an ocean of alien names, figures, and concepts. I loved it. As I modeled catalysts in lab, I scoured the web at home, filling my browser with papers and Wikipedia articles. Each question sprouted two more, leading me deeper down the rabbit hole.…
