It was a warm but cloudy day and I was walking home late after school by myself. I saw a boy, about eight years old struggling to fix his bike that had broken on the sidewalk. He was crying and his hands were covered in grease from trying to fix his bike by himself. He say me coming and asked me if I could help him fix his bike. So I examined it and the chain seemed to have fallen off the gears. I remember getting in trouble as a kid for having done the same, however, after watching my dad fix it multiple times I knew how to fix his bike. So I fixed his bike and he was watching me carefully, seemingly if in case this was to happen again. He was so happy and was practically jumping for joy when I fixed it. I asked him what he was doing out all alone, and he said he was looking for his dog. I was worried about him because he was a small kid and his parents weren't with him. I asked him where his mommy was and he said that he had gotten lost. He …show more content…

I hope people but not because I pity them that because I know where they've been, because I walked in their shoes. Maybe not exactly the same, maybe the details or tweaked a little and maybe one of us has it worse off than the other but nonetheless you help people because you want to. I remember one day I was in the thrift store and there was a little girl and her older sister and her mom was fine with buying the younger one all these nice clothes but the older one can even have one shirt that she wanted at this time I was probably only 13 years old but even then even without knowing what it felt like to not have the money to pay for something I didn't know how it felt to not feel the same, to not feel equal as others so as she walked away I proceeded to grab that shirt bring it to the front and pay for it in secrecy. I put in a bag and right after they walked out the door I ran out to them and I said hey, I think you forgot a bag they acted confused because I could've swore they got everything…

However, there are people who can’t afford to help others, but they can help spread the word and help them get the help they need. Others might argue that even if you treat people they way you want be treated, some may not even say thank you for helping them and some might be rude about it. Yes, some might not be grateful about the way you treat them but, it's better to take the chance of not getting anything in return. At least you will be satisfied with what you have done for them.…

Matthew 7:13,14 Every day God's salvation draws nearer, which means we must be more diligent and persevering in our walk with the Him. We do not have the "luxury of time" to be consumed, preoccupied, or even fatigued in our day-to-day responsibilities that we become distracted to what God wants to accomplish in each of our lives and in His church! After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them. At the introduction of my speech I believe I started out fairly strong and gave a good run down of the coming speech.…

Often times, when people start a new weight loss journey, they have the tendency to want to clear out everything that they have learned and start fresh – a concept of Tabula rasa: a blank slate. However, usually what they are starting over with is a new diet or a way of living based on an ‘expert’s’ recommendations. However, as you continue to be awakened through these exercises, you might be reminding yourself that ’starting over’ with another diet doesn’t remove emotions of regret, judgment, pain, and guilt which are buried beneath. This may inspire you to reflect on what things you continue to hold onto that aren’t supporting permanent weight loss. Consider for a moment that you could actually ‘start over’ with a simple ceremony instead by letting go of what is holding you back – paving a way for a miraculous new path.…
