I believe it is completely unfair for teens to be paid less than adults for the same exact job. The fact that people believe in lowering minimum wage for teens supports discrimination. “For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that women earn on average about 78 cents for every dollar a man makes.” (Watkins, page 23). There is already discrimination in wages/workforce and there really is no need to add to it if both teens and adults are doing the same job but each are earning a different amount just because of age. It is the same thing as discriminating based on gender because there is still inequality.
