Why I Want To Be A Waffle House Essay

Waffle House is one of the hardest places to be a server, or as they call it sales person. Customer service is not a laid back job, especially being a sales person. We base our salaries on tips, which means I am not guaranteed to make minimum wage pay. All tips are given usually for hospitality and efficiency of the service received. Greeting customers is such a big deal in Waffle House. When anyone walks through the front door, you must welcome him or her as if you would your home. I like to make certain all of my customers are happy, even when performing many other job duties. This is unlike any other multitasking, I have known. Every single Sunday is payday and in cash. This is a twenty-four hour and seven days a week restaurant. Waffle House does not close their doors. I have worked on and off in this business for ten years. I have worked during snowstorms, power outages, terrible thunderstorms and holidays. I’ve learned to use what you can and keep putting food out for customers. Many workers come and go. This is definitely not a job for everyone. The drama is very alive in this job. Learning how to bite my tongue to keep my job has not always been easy. It is necessary to grow thick skin in this line of work. I may not always get along with all of the staff. Somehow, I have to disregard any problems and work as a team. I love being a sales person for many reasons such as daily money, regular customers, meeting new people, and improving somebody’s bad day. Out of all these years I have worked for this corporation, I have met some incredible individuals. Some of which have become my best friends or my regular customers that just come to eat on days I work.
