In the year 2044, The world is broken, and the only place that anyone feels safe in a virtual world, known as the OASIS. Wade Watts was born into poverty on Aug 12, 2027 with both of his parents teenagers. they had no idea how to raise a child, but at a young age his dad died from a shooting a a general store, and his mother died when he was 11 from “a bad batch of something in her arm.” Therefore Wade has to live with what I like to call “ A worse version of the Dursleys.” Not only are they mean, they are EXTREMELY abusive. And they only took him in for the extra food stamps every month.
Wade rarely stays there, because he is normally in his secret hideout, where his school issued OASIS console is. (He couldn't keep it in his aunt's trailer,
