World Health Organization, WHO was established on 1948 and it has focused on human health in the United Nations Organization. WHO directs and coordinates authorities for health issues. It is responsible for the management of health issues worldwide. WHO direct health-related research topics and sets norms and standards. Eighth World Congress of the World Health Organization's on health promotion was in Helsinki June 2013. The main theme of the Congress was elected health in all policies. After Congress this development wanted to increase both in Finland and internationally.
Congress helped us to see how much work we have already in Finland. We can be proud of our health and well-being even though there is still plenty of work left. (STM 2007.)

There are 8500 health care professionals from 150 nationalities in 147 countries in WHO organization. WHO employees are health specialists, medical doctors, scientists and epidemiologists. There are also employees with expertise in administration and finance, information systems, economics, health statistics and emergency preparedness and response.
