Some don 't learn the same way or have the same interests. While some students have found Common Core easier to learn, others are still struggling with the concepts, according to one teacher, Bobbie Faulkner.(Meador, n.d.) He states that many students are frustrated with the idea of learning a new concept because it calls for them to think more extensively and do more work to reach the same answers the old method resulted. As an educator, it was stressful because it seemed extremely tedious to have to keep changing the lesson plan to be more analytical and to administer a higher volume of test than before. He adds with the emphasis of the tests and new material, it is overwhelming for the learning process and the students. Faulkner also sees issues with older students being in the class with younger students. There was nothing wrong with the old method of learning. It seems to add more confusion to an already struggling generation. I 've discussed this with other individuals and have come to the conclusion that introducing Common Core into the classroom wasn 't about student cognitive growth, but a matter of political propaganda. This was a ploy to other countries to say”Hey...look what OUR kids can do.” While some children are benefiting from Common Core, many are suffering.
