Every time I heard the term ‘ scaffold or scaffolding’, it always reminds me of scaffold of a building structure that support the workers but also enable them to move around the site in order to carry out their assigned task [REF]. In educational contexts, scaffolding is all about how the teacher supports the students who need extra help on their learning. However, there are different theories on how to support children’s literacy development. Piaget viewed language as a process of representing the world and facilitating the occurrence of thinking while Vygotsky placed far greater emphasis on the role of language, as he was interested for the children to be challenged and extended their learning by adults.
