As we all know that nurses have responsibility and accountability to advocates for their patients, and nurses should deliver information on VTE risk management and encourage their patient to have awareness on VTE and implement prophylaxis protocol such as pharmaceutical agents and mechanical devices to prevent this complication. Moreover, direct and indirect costs of treating VTE related problems amount is closet to $1.72 billion and nurses should take responsibility by doing VTE risk assessment on admission and by implementing VTE prophylaxis to reduce both costs.
