Character relates to one’s personal qualities, along with one’s moral commitments and values; therefore, one’s philosophy or principles reflect what one values while character is an active demonstration of what one values (Gini & Roland, 2014). The principle is rigid in that adapting to a specific project or person is difficult and change only occurs when there has been a shift in philosophy by the organization. Furthermore, the theory also hypothesizes that differences exist between leaders and managers. Managers govern for stability, have subordinates under their control, adopt well-defined short-term objectives, focus on details, and are task oriented.
