Some positions within the Coast Guard should be evaluated closely to determine if these positions are beneficial to the Coast Guard Mission. My position in the Response Division, at Sector Buffalo, I feel should be eliminated because it is of no value to the Coast Guard. This position does not have a mission, there are no leadership opportunities, and is an ineffective use of Coast Guard resources. Every member of the Coast Guard should want to, and should be expected to, contribute in some way to one of the many Coast Guard missions. One of the main reasons that this position should be eliminated is because it is a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) position that does not offer any leadership opportunities.…

Some people say that the Marine Corps is becoming a second Army, that is simply not the case. Since the Gulf War the Marine Corps has been being deployed to areas like Iraq and Afghanistan by helicopter and airplanes, this makes it seem like they are becoming a second Army because of the long term deployments. The Marine Corps says that they do not intend on becoming a second Army, and there was an issued statement from 2011 Defense Secretary Robert Gates “The Marine Corps is not going to turn into a “second Army,” nor will it have to give up its distinctive role as the nation’s 911 force”. Like the statement says the Marine Corps is the first to fight because of the Marine Expeditionary Units they can deploy anywhere in 6 hours.…

This is a job that I would be good at because I have always been a marksman, and I am always been a team player. Some one once told me tat Navy Seals are a very unique breed because they look for things that are more than strength and weapon accuracy. They look at things that would benefit their team like being able to make critical decisions that would save many lives. Although they need people are physically ready for the challenge at hand.…

Relationship between the Orders Process and the Troop Leading Procedure The orders process demonstrates how the troop leading procedures (TLPs) should be performed and applied under mission command. In other words, the orders process provides a basic framework for leaders to implement and carry out Army operations. Commanders drive the orders process, while the supporting staff conducts it (ADRP 6-0, 2012, p. vi). Army leaders motivate people both inside and outside the chain of command to pursue actions, focus thinking and shape decisions for the greater good of the organization.” In the definition mentioned previously, the words “motivate people both inside and outside the chain of command,” is very important to my idea of what seniors should be able to do. In the 920B field, I personally have found that establishing relationships outside my chain of command has had direct influence over the success of missions WITHIN my chain of command.…
