Volunteering shows leadership by having the students try something challenging. I volunteered at the food bank one summer. Everyone that was there had specific position; my position was to make sure the boxes had enough of products for each family member. As an example, if a family has three members living with them, then they would get enough food, personal hygiene, and clothing items.
Besides leadership skills, it shows teamwork by having the students work together in a big project. They could have a car wash and need people to help with the cars. They need each other to do specific jobs, such as, people to direct traffic, to wash, rinse, and dry the cars. …show more content…
Students could do very different things to help. They could donate their time to help other students in a subject they are having trouble with. They could help in a soup kitchen and feed people who do not have enough money to eat.
Although I believe this, there are some people think that students should not be required to volunteer. Students may have sports, they may have jobs, and they may have too much homework.
Despite the arguments, I believe that students should still be required to volunteer. Volunteering shows leadership. It shows how teamwork is essential. Volunteering shows how it is important to put others first. It is amazing to work on something bigger than oneself with
