Volunteering In Kentucky

Volunteering is an action in which the majority benefit from because the person who is volunteering has the satisfaction of knowing that his or her accomplishments have altered the lives of those around him or her for the better. Volunteering is an art in which the person giving back has an ability to introspect about the quality of their life and feel fulfilled that they have had the opportunity to change someone else's life, and be grateful for their lives. Furthermore, Louisville, my residential city, a city full of entertaining activities for children like going to the Kentucky Science Center, but also lively events for the older generations. The Kentucky Science Center hosts a variety of camps which allow the participant to explore science in a fun and creative manners. Children, who participated in the camps had the ability to explore the Science Center among other activities. The camp counselors often had a classroom of approximately fifteen children, which became a tough task because of the children's young age. Although I only had the opportunity to the children once throughout the camps I was able to instantly bond with them. Through the bond, I was able to help them with the activities in the science center, which helped them learn, about science. More importantly, after volunteering at the Science Center my life changed. I was able to create an amazing bond with children. I never thought that I would enjoy taking care of children as much as I did. The experience clarified my desires because it provided me the opportunity to realize that in the future I want to continue volunteering with younger children. The future lies within the small children, and if I could be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach children about science in the future I would do it
