There is only one qualification required for them to accept you as a volunteer firefighter is that you are eighteen years or older. They generally accept anyone because they could you use as much help as they can get. There is a required two hundred and twenty-hour volunteer education workshop. There are no required hours or days that you have to volunteer, it is whenever you can give. They really appreciate anything because every little bit helps. I looked into other places that could maybe offer with action and they really just weren’t that appealing to me. I really feel that there are many different ways to help the community and this was the one that I felt would make me feel really great by physically helping others out. One of the many challenges would be death but that worst case scenario. Being a volunteer firefighter you encounter many things. They try to make things as safe as they can by teaching you how to deal with situations and by giving you equipment that could potentially help. We all know that things can happen and no matter how prepared you are you could end up dead, or even with injuries that can hospitalize you.
