Summary:
Put on any necessary personal safety equipment, and one person from each team should collaborate with people from other teams to create the NaOH solution. The other team members should focus on setting up the buret by rising it with distilled water as well as building the titration apparatus and preparing the HCl solution.
In order to prepare the NaOH solution, first take some solid NaOH and measure its mass. Then get a 250 mL volumetric flask and fill it about halfway with distilled water. Add the NaOH to the flask and mix it until it is dissolved. When the NaOH is completely dissolved, fill the rest of the flask up with distilled water until the 250 mL line has been reached. Calculate the concentration of the NaOH, and split the solution between the two teams at the station, pouring about half into two containers.
To prepare the HCl solution, measure some HCl and pour it into a Erlenmeyer flask. Make sure to record what type of solution you are using (A or B), and

When color changes are seen after adding the NaOH, change the increment size to less than one mL, and swirl the flask to mix the solutions. As the solution grows more pink, add the NaOH solution one drop at a time, until the solution is a constant, faint, pink. Measure the amount of NaOH dispensed and calculate the molarity of the HCl solution.
If there is enough time to repeat, then rinse the Erlenmeyer flask with tap water, then distilled. Measure more HCl into the flask, making sure it is the same type of solution (A or B) used before. Fill the buret with NaOH and repeat the titration steps. Rinsing the buret with NaOH is not necessary.
To clean up, empty all leftover solutions down the sink with lots of running water. Disassemble the buret apparatus and rinse the buret and glassware with distilled water. Return everything back to its proper place, and then wash your hands.

A graduated cylinder was used to measure 200mL of distilled water into an Erlenmeyer flask and then 40mL of 0.6 M NaOH was added to the distilled water in the flask. The flask was then plugged with a rubber stopper and shook in order to mix the solution. A buret was then washed, rinsed with distilled water, and then 5 mL of the NaOH diluted solution. After the cleansing of the buret, it was then filled up with the NaOH diluted solution. The dilution of the solution was calculated to find the molarity of the NaOH.…

Traditional titration with indicator dye (week one) First the 50mL buret was cleaned by filling it with distilled water and letting it empty three separate times. It was further cleaned by coating the inside with 5 to 10 mL of the 0.0468M NaOH titrant solution and emptying that into the waste beaker as well for three repetitions. 40.0 mL of 7-Up soda was diluted with 60.0 mL of distilled water in a graduated cylinder, and the solution was quantitatively transferred to a 250 mL flask with 5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator.…

    i. Enzymes are macromolecules that increase chemical reactions without being consumed in the reaction. They do this by lowering the activation energy (the amount of energy that reactants need to absorb in order for a chemical reaction to take place). Every enzyme has a substrate with a unique shape and structure for it to bind to. Denaturation of proteins (when a protein unravels and becomes inactive), and change in the shape of the enzyme or substrate all influence the activity and functionality of enzymes. ii.…

Over a 30-minute period a total of 1mL of HCl within a graduated cylinder was added drop wise into the Erlenmeyer flask. A yellow-orange (ish) solution began to form over this 30-minute period and a purple gas was also slightly noticeable. This gas is iodine that sublimates (changes from solid to gas passing through the liquid phase).…
