The United States of America is arguably one of the most influential and glorified countries in the world. The dark and despairing pasted we have been through cannot stop this nation from being great. From the malicious wars to harrowing terrorist attacks and even domestic terrorism. America has prevailed through it all in one piece showing we are all stronger united rather than divided.
America has had a rocky start from the get-go. In the late 1700s we started our revolutionary war to get independence from the British. Led by George Washington we won our independence on July 4, 1776. Soon America would be thrown back into turmoil in the early 1800s when division between the north and south erupted into a war based on political disagreements. With the North eventually winning this war brought an end to slavery. April 6, 1917 the U.S. was again involved in another war World War One. America also go involved the second World War fighting Germany after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This war put a …show more content…
Terrorism according to google is the unlawful use of violence and intimidation especially against civilians. One account of this act in America was 9/11. September 11, 2001 a terrorist group in the Middle East named ‘al-Qaeda’ hijacked American Airplanes crashing them into the Twin Towers in New York City. Next they crashed a plane into the Pentagon. Lastly the final plane was stopped by civilian passengers and instead of hitting its destination was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. The citizens on the plane that crashed into the field had the outstanding and remarkable courage to stand up and stop that day from being any worse. In March of 2006 construction for a museum on the place where the former Twin Towers stood to commemorate those whom lost their lives that day. This gives hope to the future that even after such a horrible tragedy we can make one good thing from
