Vocational Education Involving High School Students and Businesses “Many students who have difficulty with academic work becomes more interested in their studies after beginning vocational education” (Merrill). Vocational education will teach students based on a specific trade and build up expertise in terms of skills and techniques revolving on all aspects of trade. The effect of starting early with vocational education becomes beneficial towards the student’s future for a long- term. For the students that decide to not attend college, their career will be successful by gaining skills and knowledge from vocational education. Local businesses will surely benefit the community by being involved every step of the way with vocational education.

Each step with vocational education is a step closer to benefiting for someone’s career, in this case students. Vocational education has helped take students a step closer to being prepared to go into the workforce (Vocational Education In). In the preparation stage, students are taught the basics in relation of his/her career. Time will be taken to learn about the career that is desired, whether it’s business or engineering or medical. Although, high schools offer classes related to a few careers, vocational education takes it to a whole new level that goes deeper into the career. With preparation, students will get a better understanding of their career and of themselves by knowing if they can handle the work space. Being prepared will be pieces of the career that will be positioned into a whole idea of the suitable career. The introduction to the job market will signal the students intentions towards their career or job that they are interested in. Student’s will take advantage of the introduction because it will help them decide if they can work in that environment. This will test to see how students if they would be able to handle the workspace. By knowing the job market and the work space, students will figure out if that career fits their needs or not.
