Vlad Tepes (usually known as Dracula) was the ruler of Wallachia (Romania), who acquired a terrifying reputation due to cruelty. Vlad spent many years as hostage of the Turks, learning from them a lesson of humiliation, oppression and terror. When Vlad returned to Wallachia, he campaigned against the Turks, built Castle Dracula and massacred thousands of people by a variety of terrifying methods (the most common one was a stake, which earned him the title "Vlad the Impaler"). He was imprisoned in 1462 and murdered 14 years later.
After his death, he became a legend due to many crazy rumors. Although, some of the rumors were true- his grave was empty. Legend says he is waiting for the time he is needed again.
